BRAZIL - Dora & Sheldon Chee
A Paz do Senhor! (Peace of the Lord in Portuguese)
For the last eight years, Calvary Assembly of God has sown prayer, money, and sweat in the harvest fields of Brazil. Our vision is make disciples that make
other disciples and plant churches that plant other churches. By God’s grace we evangelised over 15 cities in South America.
Since 2018, we raised, trained, and sent our local Brazilian leaders to do missions in the Amazon rain forest. They have preached the Gospel to indigenous natives of the Tikuna tribe located right next to the Amazon river. There still exists many indigenous tribes that never heard the Gospel. We hope we can change that by raising local Amazonians to reach their people, tribe, and tongue. God’s heart is so big that we were able to cross borders and plant a church in the Amazon region of Peru. These people live in wooden cabins with no running water, no bathrooms, no Wi-Fi, and little electricity. In the face of so many difficulties, our missionaries grasped the Spanish language, preached the Gospel, and have raised Peruvian leaders. ¡Viva Peru!
In the city of Morrinhos, where our church headquarters is located, we have constructed an exceptional building that can fit well over 300 people for church services. The building’s infrastructure will also be used as a school facility. Starting from 2021, we will be opening
an official private school that will be recognised by the Brazilian Department of Education to bring quality education to the city of Morrinhos. Talmidim Middle School started as a community tutoring program to educate students of low-income families of Morrinhos. There were girl prostitutes, twelve year olds that got pregnant, and boys that started to smoke and use alcohol. However, through our school, we were able to bring the Gospel to our students, taking them out of drugs and prostitution.
We are passionate, committed, and fruitful in spreading the Gospel in Brazil and South America. Thank you Imagine Nations Church for your prayers and support towards our ministry!
