AUSTRALIA - Bible Society of Australia

On behalf of Bible Society Australia, I want to thank you for your partnership and support in 2020. Your church was generous enough to specifically support Opening The Bible with Indigenous people groups In Australia. Thanks to your generosity, Bible Society was able to purchase 400 Megavoice Audio players, empowering Indigenous communities to speak the gospel in their language. Furthermore, you enabled distribution of the Audio Gospel of Mark in Dhuwaya which was distributed through MAF to Arnhem Land. Communities are now able to listen to God’s word and pass it onto their children, impacting generations to come. We know God’s word is powerful and effective (Hebrews 4:12), and look forward to seeing many people reconciled to God through these audio scriptures..

This takes place in the context of many Indigenous communities translating, publishing and distributing the Bible and Bible engagement activities throughout the country. Looking to the future, plans are in place to continue translating more Old Testament books, and eventually complete entire Bibles. For example, the Pitjantjatjara Bible is nearing closer to completion every single year.

I love how the Apostle Paul expresses his heart for the church at Philippi (Philippians 1:4-6). We pray the same prayer over your church. “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
